Instructions - How to use your Hybrid Card Kit
To make the card you will need to print out pages 2 and 3 of the pdf file you have downloaded from the above link. The "Happy Mother's Day" panel (to use instead of the Happy Birthday one) is on the forth page. There are notes on page one of the file about printing quality.
Cut out the Background pink panel, the panel of 5 flowers and the dark pink panel with the text greeting. First cover the front of your 7x5in card base with the 7x5in pink damask panel. Then adhere the strip of 5 flowers to the centre of the darker strip which has the words on it (Happy Birthday or Happy Mother's Day depending on which one you are using) see picture above.
For the basic version of the card, simply cut out the disk with the flower already printed in the centre (see above picture).
Apply 3D foam pads for a bit of extra dimension and interest (if you have them) and stick your flower to the front of the card as it is shown in the picture near the top of this web page.
Now cut out the dark pink edged panel with the flowers and, making sure you have the panel the correct way up (see the note on the printout) adhere this panel to the inside of the card. This makes the inside area where you write your message more interesting and is a nice finishing touch to a hand crafted card. This is your basic card finished!
If you would like to create the layered flower then cut out the 3 separate flower shape and the small circle, along with the disk which is blank in the middle.
To create the flower you simply layer the smallest to the largest item. I used a 3D foam pad for the flower centre, but only sticky dots for the other petal layers as I curled the petals to add dimension (see below).
Take your flower shapes and curl each petal pinching the petal between thumb and straight edge (such as scissors) and pulling along from the middle to the outside edge.
Alternatively you can roll each petal around a narrow pencil.
Once you have layered all your petals, adhere the flower to the centre of the blank disk and in turn stick the finished embellishment to your card. Now you have finished!
